River Rats

My little canoe and I prowled the Rum River last week. The flotsam and jetsam pictured above is left by the 'rats' who dump their non-biodegradables into the stream. It's just the tip of the trash-berg. I spent an hour collecting the worst of it, all in an area of about 400 square feet:

Two full bags as well as a couple of 2-liter pop bottles—one of them full of root beer.

It was only a dent, but where I did do a clean up it looked better already. I might make this a habit.

The most disgusting item was a can of Budweiser Clamato beer.

There are numerous humorous videos on YouTube 'reviewing' that fine adult beverage.

Good for you! Just don't consume anything.

I've noticed in our limited trash picking up day experiences (z and I pick up trash along the road every Earth Day) that it's always cheap beer that is littered, and usually the worst cheap beer possible. You have confirmed our findings.

Thanks for policing up the stream, Prof. Mother Earth thanks you too! I confess to drinking an occasional "tomato beer" but never a manufactured one...didn't even know they existed.

SLM and oroboros ~ life is too short to drink bad beer, and the earth is too beautiful to trash it with the cans.
