A Real Fun Guy

Life on the Mississippi - part 3

There's nothing quite like paddling down an unexplored backwater...

Modeling the latest in outdoor wear, P. Batty displays his svelte figure with a diaphanous set of anti-mosquito togs, frosted vinyl and camo green nylon mesh...

The local fungi puts on its own style show with this brilliant yellow frock...

Your gear doesn't bode well for my nephew and his wife, who are beginning to explore the outdoors in Minnesota...

... a wet spring and dense undergrowth means plenty o' skeeters. It is usually better by August. September and October (before hunting season) are the best months for camping in MN. The metro areas are pretty good- they use a hormone in swampy areas that keeps the mosquitoes from breeding (it is harmless to other species.) A headnet and long sleeves are a must in the wild in May and June.
