Football

There was a time when football was something we did- not something we watched.

We didn't need a stadium- just a patch of grass.

We didn't need uniforms, cleats or padding- some of us didn't even need shoes.

We didn't need money- which was a good thing because we didn't have any.

We never made it onto any real team- but that was OK because we could fly.

Fond memories. We'd even play it in the street (dead end street in one of the first housing tract complexes in Goleta, CA)

We'd play in the street as well- "Go out and dogleg past that parked car."

Is that Jack, Rick, Gaylon, Randy, and Gary?

Dave- You got it, I think Rich was QB. Hard to imagine Rick ever getting so much "air".

This is a great picture, as usual.

I am always interested in your life- and I hope you keep posting- but mostly I'm just posting to tell you to email me at cellar27door@yahoo.com with your email address if you want to read my blog. (I'm not sure if you read it or not- it's not going to hurt my feelings if you don't!) I'm making it a private blog, due to the public nature of being a rural school teacher. I hope you email. I won't email you or anything, I'll just put you on the list.

Mary ~ Thank you. It is one of my earlier efforts- at least 40 years ago.

Cellar Door ~ I'll write later this weekend.
