Travis

Roadside memorials.

There are a half-dozen within a three mile radius of my house.

Almost taken for granted.

With the advent of the automobile came the plague of traffic deaths.

A new horseman of the apocalypse.

It's the price we pay for the freedom of mobility.

That's too bad, I murmur to myself, and I shake my head in sympathy.

And drive on.
