No Fair!

Again, it was just a matter of when, not if.

In another Covid-19 casualty, The 2020 Minnesota State Fair has been cancelled. The last time that had happened was during the 1946 polio epidemic. FITK has featured it many times but its coverage this year will have to be virual.

The Fine Arts Exhibit may still be held on-line as suggested by the notice I got from the Fine Arts Committee:
We are exploring options on how we might still be able to showcase the work of the incredible artists that we are so fortunate to have in our great state.”

So there is at least a glimmer of hope.

There are glimmers all over, but it will be a while before we even approach what things were like, b.c.

Yep, I may not live long enough to get back to Iceland!

That is a troubling thought. My brother and I have sworn to take the ashes of whichever one of us dies first to northern Iceland as we did with out father. He is younger so I suspect I will get back there at least once.

I’m starting to think that we won’t make it up to GM this July. We’d be OK at the cabin, but the rest stops on the way up and back aren’t appealing.
