Reality Distortion Field

This just may be the strangest video I’ve ever seen:

The manufacturer of audio components for rich people uses the narration by an aging boomer rock star to promote its goods set over visuals of joyful peasants.

I can’t quite grasp the connections.

I suppose McIntosh is out of reach for mere mortals, but they did (do?) sound amazing. I did just have my old Marantz 1060 redone with a few things it needed, but it is back to it's old self again. Found a retired guy in Hastings that knows what he is doing.

I once did sound for Papa John Creach and he had a MC-2300 (over 800 watts in mono) just for his violin!

I had an early C-20 preamp once that I got at the Salvation Army for $5. I turned it for a quick $75. Now it is worth well over a thou.

Yeah, even the modest 1060 is worth more than what I paid for it new. That gives me hope that there is still some good value left in old things.
