The Giddings Gazebo Revisited
In the spirit of the season, here is a new look at this curious structure that exists in my hometown. It was built as a retreat in the middle of the Rum River in Anoka, Minnesota, by Thaddeus P. Giddings, a music educator in the early part of the twentieth century. This image was shot on a cold February night several years ago—the city doesn't light it so dramatically anymore.
They don't build such interesting things in the river anymore, either.
